MW travels to the Zegna HQ for a first look at the Zegna Maserati collaboration.

ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA TROFEO WOOL DENIM

A completely innovative textile breakthrough from Lanificio Zegna: the first Zegna pure wool denim. Entirely made with Zegna Trofeo Wool through the exclusive fabric innovation of wool indigo dying: a process that keeps all the properties of traditional denim, maintaining the richness, warmth and soft-hand of the iconic Trofeo Wool. With this project, Zegna combines its sartorial approach to a fabric that traditionally comes from sportswear: a hybrid between casual denim and the formal attitude of pure Trofeo Wool.

Trofeo Wool Denim classic crombie coat and trousers combined with brown knitted turtleneck sweater in cashmere; triple stitch sneakers in suede with crossed elastics and 3D “waves” details on the upper part — rubber cup-sole stitched on the side, composed by a midsole, a toe piece and a heel stabilizer, all personalized with the “Triple Stitch” logo detail on the back.

Pelle Tessuta stands for woven leather. It reproduces precious fabric using extremely thin strips of select lamb nappa in place of fabric yarns. Nappa strips placed in a warp position are interwoven with horizontal weft strips replicating the traditional method of weaving cloth. The woven leather is realized weaving lamb nappa strips of only 2.2 mm wide arming a loom with warp and weft obtaining a fabric of leather comparable to cashmere for softness and naturalness.
