Do you know who’s going to essay the lead role in the remake of Rajesh Khanna starrer Ittefaq? It’s none other than Sidharth Malhotra, who is all set to star in the murder mystery that revolves around the life of a painter who ends up murdering his wife. 

The original Ittefaq, which was released in the year 1969, was a remake of a British film Signpost to Murder. This new film will be produced by Gauri Khan where Sonakshi Sinha is set to play the role of Sidharth’s wife.

The shoot is expected to begin in the month of February next year and Sidharth, who was last seen in Baar Baar Dekho,  seems all excited about it. In an interview to a leading daily, he stated, “Ittefaq is a different and a very special movie for me. The character I portray is unlike any of the characters I have played so far and I am really excited to retrieve the genre of murder mystery with the classic cult movie”.
