The ninth ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival will be held between January 21 and 25 at Jaipur’s Diggi Palace Hotel, and the line-up looks very promising.

The organizers have released their first list of 165 authors announced who will be present at the event. It includes legendary author, poet and environmental activist Margaret Atwood, beloved Indian author Ruskin Bond, acclaimed photographer Steve McCurry, Harvard historian Niall Ferguson and British comedian-writer-activist Stephen Fry.

French economist Thomas Piketty, Bosnian American fiction writer Aleksandar Hemon, Indian psychoanalyst and author Sudhir Kakar and prominent Hindi poet and author Uday Prakash are among the others confirmed to attend.

Apart from voices in Assamese, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Pahadi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Santhali, Tamil and Urdu, one can also expect representation of international languages such as French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Icelandic and Slovenian.
