Here’s why you should watch Hawaizaada
Here’s why you should watch Hawaizaada

The Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer aims to set the records straight about who really invented airplanes.

So we all know that the Wright Brothers flew the world’s first airplane in America in 1903. You didn’t? Go brush up on your general knowledge. While you are at it, let us also tell you that, allegedly, eight years before the Wright brothers, an Indian had figured out the mechanisms behind making an airplane fly, and had successfully launched one in Mumbai.

The conspiracy theory has been a favourite with Indians for a while now, and even though it might not be believable, historical science-fiction is a genre Bollywood has never experimented with before.

Here’s why you should look forward to this movie:

The trailer has a strong Hugo-ish feel to it and it will be a pleasure to see an Indian film maker try out realistic computer graphics and elaborate production design to lend credibility to a probably fictional theory.

If the trailer is to be believed, Ayushmann Khurrana’s acting skills find more opportunities to explore new terrain, and his portrayal of the inventor Shivkar Talpade will surely outdo all his roles till date. Also, Mithun Chakraborty returns to the big screen after a long hiatus, and it is always a pleasure to watch him.

Although they say too many cooks spoil the broth, the soundtrack of the movie – it boasts of composers like Vishal Bhardwaj and Ayushmann Khurrana himself – will definitely make it to your playlist. Don’t miss ‘Dil todne ki machine’ by the Bhardwaj duo.

You get to see old Bombay come alive again. None of our recent Bollywood films have set their stories in the Bombay of 1895 and we are looking forward to seeing how well the city is recreated to stay true to that period.
