Garnering accolades from all quarters for his performance in Dangal, Aparshakti Khurrana is one actor to watch out for. He definitely stole the show with his short, but powerful, stint in Dangal as the devoted and goofy cousin of the Phogat sisters.

In this interview with MW, Aparshakti Khurrana shares his experience of working with Aamir Khan, reveals the filmmakers he wishes to work with, and more.

Did you always want to become an actor? 

No, I always wanted to do something in sports. 

Which film or films would you say changed your life? 

There are many. Joh Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Chak De India, Paan Singh Tomar, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. If you notice, sports is the common thread. 

Which was the last film Hindi you loved? 

I saw this amazing film in which the nephew looked exactly like me. I think the film is called Dangal. On a serious note let’s not be obsessed with your own film – I loved Parched and Pink.

Which was the last Hindi film you hated?

You always get to know when the audience sitting with you in the hall is not enjoying the film, but in most such films I know what to take home with me to become a better artist. Anyway coming to the point Tamanchey for me was just about okay. 

Share an experience with Aamir Khan that you will never forget.

I can never forget our jam sessions during the Delhi schedule, where he would enjoy listening to my Punjabi songs and I would love listening to his old Hindi film songs.

Taapsee Pannu, Radhika Apte and Konkona Sen Sharma.

One quality that you have that Ayushmann does not? 

I think I can multitask throughout the day, whereas Ayush Bhaiya would want to do one thing at a time. 

One quality that Ayushmann has that you lack? 

He is definitely a better listener. And he is much more patient and resilient than me.
