MW updates you on everything we have been talking and bickering about

After Twitter had fun with its new hashtag #NotAGoodConversationStarter, we realized how pathetic we all are at small talk. So here’s what’s been trending this week, just in case you live under a rock.

West Indies vs Zimbabwe
This Pool B match was all about Chris Gayle magic. Gayle set the highest ODI partnership score with Marlon Samuels at 372 runs. He also became the fifth and only non-Indian to hit a double century in ODIs, after two by Rohit Sharma, and one each by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. There was also a little hiccup for Gayle when he could have missed this record-breaking act, but a stroke of luck helped him manage this excellent feat.

UAE’s first ever World Cup century
MW has always believed in underdogs, as you can read here. But UAE has done what seemed impossible. UAE’s Shaiman Anwar gifted his team with a century, a feat that has never been achieved in the World Cup by them before. Although a total score of 278 was not a big deal for their opponents, Ireland, but this game does make them stay in the league. Look out Indians, you face the UAE team next.

Sean Penn’s racist comment
“Sean Penn’s ‘Green Card’ Comment May Have Ruined the Entire Oscars” was seen splashed across the headlines of many newspapers and magazines. After a glitzy night that brought attention to gender discrimination, ALS and other uplifting causes, Sean Penn may have ruined the night by his silly little joke. He was presenting the Best Picture Oscar (which went to Alejandro G Inarritu for Bridman), when he cracked a joke on the director’s immigration status, saying, “Who gave this son of a bitch his green card?” Alejandro, on the other hand, graciously defended his old friend saying, “I found it hilarious. Sean and I have that kind of brutal relationship.”

Rakhi Sawant’s late reaction to AIB

Now this woman will do anything to grab some limelight. Her late response to the AIB roast, that has been doing the rounds on Youtube, will make you chortle incontrollably. According to Sawant, her “really close friends” Ranveer’s (Singh) and Karan’s (Johar) face has been superimposed into the Roast video. Need a laugh? Watch the video.
