The letter attests to Bowie responding almost immediately after having read the letter with an earnestness that is seldom found in modern day musicians.

Bowie, only 20 years of age at the time, gave his undivided attention to the letter, disclosing seemingly random personal details, which when put together paint a curious and endearing image of the rock legend.
