She
was called the 'Ek Do Teen' girl in her hometown
in the UK. And Geeta Basra is ready to make all
the right moves to get noticed in Bollywood. Her
debut film Dil Diya Hai is with the super successful
combination of Aditya Dutt-Emraan Hashmi. The
actor is visibly excited. "The role I have
is definitely worthy of a debut. A lot of people
think I have a very sexy image given the songs
that are on air, but I definitely have a very
cute and naughty role."
The 20-something actor is actually a popular model
in the South and has also spent the last two and
a half years modeling for brands like Blistex,
Indian Oil and more. "But I never wanted
to be a model. Bollywood was always my eventual
aim." While she is considering offers down
south, she's waiting for the box office jingle
to sign her next film. Quiz her about controversies
and rumours flying off the press and she says
with a laugh, "There's no catfight between
Emraan and Aditya for my affections. In fact,
Emraan's girlfriend has been with us in London
whilst we were shooting."
While her determination and smile may hide the
struggle, the actor is determined to make her
mark. Having quit her studies in the UK halfway,
she says matter-of-factly, "I want to be
known as an actor. Not a girl from London playing
an NRI or not just someone with a hot body!"
