WIPEOUT FUSION

WIPEOUT FUSION Fancy being young Anakin Skywalker astride one of those mind-boggling Pod racers? Alas we haven't reached 3000 AD yet! But all's not lost, with the release of the coolest hovercraft racer sim of all time-Wipeout Fusion for PlayStation2. As a pilot in a league of hovercraft racers, you'll find a curious blend of futuristic racing, simulation racing, and combat racing. Wipeout Fusion provides 45 courses on seven tracks, and there's a lot of fresh territory and good, challenging depth to this game. There have been a number of key improvements to the Wipeout gameplay. The most notable is in the track design where tracks corkscrew, loop, drop off at 90 degrees, and even flip upside down. Improvements that not only heighten the sense of speed but also make the game feel more like a rollercoaster ride with 360-degree camera pans and laser-plasma weapons to kayo your competition. One of the greatest additions in Fusion is in the form of the pilot/ship system. Now you can easily finish the game with one ship without switching to another craft. As you win races, you earn credits to upgrade your racer-you have your choice of raising the stats of the shield, top speed, thrust, and braking power just to name a few options. As you upgrade, your ship will not only perform better, but its appearance also changes and by the time you max out your stats your ship will look completely different. Upgrading to a certain point will unlock your chosen team's lead pilot who'll have the potential for better stats and this increases your incentive for staying with one team until the end. However, if you choose, you can downgrade any improvements you have made to one pilot and use the recycled points to build up any other pilot you have unlocked. With awesome graphics that goes beyond the scope of a spartan, arcade look and feel, this title from Milestone Interactive at a steal of Rs 999 delivers decent game play.
