The musician on his life-changing experience and his fears

So, what’s keeping you busy these days?
It is the same as always. My schedule is full, with travelling and performing at concerts around the country and the world.

What is your biggest regret?
I have to stay away from my family for long periods when I am travelling and I always wish I didn’t have to leave them all the time. If I could make them tag along with me all the time, everywhere, I would.

What is your biggest achievement?
Performing at the White House in 2013 for President Barack Obama at the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month Celebration.

What is that one resolution you break often?
I always plan to follow an exercise routine, and I always end up breaking that resolution.

What is the one thing every man should know about women?
That they are right, even when they are not.

What is the one thing you always desire?
I always want to be overwhelmed by music.

What are you always searching for?
Inspiration.

Tell us about a life-changing experience.
The most powerful experience has been becoming a father at the age of 26. It changed everything.

Which is your favourite place on earth?
Home, with my daughter.

What irritates you most about people?
Dishonesty. I can’t stand it.

What are your fears?
I have this constant fear of getting older and slower.

What is the one skill  every man should possess?
He should be able to cook a badass meal.

What makes you happy?
Hanging out with my friends and tripping on good music.

Your favourite memories?
There are too many to list, but most of them are on stage.

A word of advice.
Follow your heart and your passion. They usually lead you to good places.
