Government lifts porn ban; India celebrates

The outrageous ban has been withdrawn. You can breathe now.

The telecom ministry has decided to withdraw its list of 857 websites which were deemed inappropriate for public viewing. As told by a telecom ministry spokesperson to Huffpost, the government has decided to instead implement a rule which will require all internet service providers (ISPs) to filter all content pertaining to child pornography.

This is how we were helping the government out with the Porn Ban. Trust us, it is outrageous. Here’s a snippet:

The list, which included non-pornographic websites such as 9GAG and CollegeHumour, invited the ire of the general public who considered it draconian and unnecessary. Especially when Pornhub is preparing themselves to shoot a film in space.

The decision was made after a meeting was convened on Tuesday between govt officials who reviewed the petition filed by lawyer Kamlesh Vaswani asking for a blanket ban on all pornographic content. Following the meeting, Telecom Minister Ravishankar Prasad stated that the govt only intends to ban websites containing child pornography. The case still remains pending in the Supreme Court.

Also, in other news, is this why Sunny Leone made such a drastic career switch? Well, no one’s complaining. Especially not the 100 guys who went on a date with her.
