Team India just lost another title to South Africa

The South African team is getting quite used to snatching record titles. Recently, AB de Villiers made headlines for making the fastest ODI 50, 100 and 150 scores. After him, it is Hashim Amla now, who has broken Virat Kohli’s record of fastest ODI hundreds.

Virat Kohli holds the record of being the first ever batsman to score the fastest number of centuries with 17 hundreds. But, Hashim Amla has beaten that record with 20 hundreds so far. Amla overtook Kohli’s record in the recent world cup match against Ireland. Calculating the strike rate between Amla and South African captain AB de Villiers, it was seen that the captain was the most important contributor to the team’s win. But considering Amla’s newest record, he was made the Man of The Match.

A further study also shows that the team is bubbling with immense talent. After five centuries already in the tournament from five different batsmen, South Africa is on a record-breaking binge. Amla, de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, David Miller and JP Duminy have all scored handsomely, while du Plessis and Rilee Rossouw have scored two fifties apiece. Opener Quinton de Kock is, probably, the only batsman struggling with his form, with scores of 7, 7, 12, and 1 in the tournament till date and has an average of 15 this year.

Even if Amla’s top scoring match was against a weaker team like Ireland, it did give him an excellent opportunity to create history.
