It is high time lounge wear and western formals/casuals incorporated Indian qualities – and go beyond the bandhgala. And Ujjwal Dubey is doing exactly that with his label, Antar-Agni. In his own words, he was overwhelmed by the power of black and wanted to keep it easy with tones of grey and cut monotony with skin. The collection is a fantastic mixture of wearable jackets, suits, buttoned kurtas and easy shirts which definitely are comfortable but not sloppy. Stylish, interestingly cut and easy-to-wear, Antar-Agni is the flavour of the season.
Amalraj Sengupta did his take on the Apocalypse with heavy structured jackets with leather detailing accessorised with gas masks, futuristic backpacks and heavy army boots. Not a bad collection – even though, how last season is the Apocalypse theme? – but it loses out on wearability. Arjun Saluja’s distressed leather jackets are must-haves. We loved Armaan-Aiman’s minutely embroidered sweatshirts too.
