Creative Director Alessandro Michele aggressively mined men’s fashion’s colourful past of the 1970s and remixed it with the gender-fluid sensibility of the present to create the striking Gucci spring/summer 2016 collection. As he was quoted as saying during the presentation last year, “I don’t want be a prisoner of the brand. I wanted to incorporate aspects of the old into the show but give them new meaning,” and later, “Dressing up can give you the possibility to express anything that you want to be.” Flare pants, pussy bows, lace shirt, brocade pyjamas, they look as good on men as on women.
