Tarun Tahiliani’s Kanjeevaram dhotis
Tarun Tahiliani’s Kanjeevaram dhotis

The noted designer redesigns the old Indian staple for a new generation.

To state the obvious, Tarun Tahliani was at his opulent best  in the  new wedding collection he presented yesterday at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2015 in Delhi. But what caught our eye in the men’s wear range was his very stylish pre-draped Kanjeevaram dhotis.  Made by Whitcomb & Shaftesbury, the Savile Row, London- based bespoke tailors from Tahiliani’s design, it has all the potential to start a trend in dhotis amongst Indian men. Being pre-draped you don’t have to bother about the intricacies of tying one. If worried about what footwear to pair it with, Tahiliani had the answer:  shoes also made in Kanjeevram, with  cotton brocade, zardois and embroidered velvet.
