Tech for your soles
Tech for your soles

Hyderabad-based tech company, Ducere Technologies, creates the world’s first interactive haptic footwear

It’s the age of wearable tech, guys. You may or may not like it, but you can’t avoid the fact that we are moving towards advanced gadgetry in our accessories and clothing too. Google Glass and iWatch is just the start (and a good one, at that). Closer home, we have Krispian Lawrence and Anirudh Sharma, graduates from the University of Michigan and MIT and co-founders of Ducere Technologies, who have launches the world’s first interactive haptic footwear, under their company’s wearable technology brand called Lechal.

 How does it work?

You can pair the footwear via Bluetooth to your smartphone with an app, which can help you with your destinations. Your phone will use GPS to calculate the location data, and the directions are conveyed to you via haptics (vibrations) in the footwear.

The shoes also count your steps and track your calories. Through the app you can set goals, create custom workout sessions and more.

These shoes allow you to tag locations, set destinations, start/stop/pause navigation by just executing simple foot gestures.
