Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Next Sale On Jan 30: What You Should Know

The successor to the hugely-successful Redmi Note 3 smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was sold out at its first sale on Monday. The next sale is scheduled for January 30 on Flipkart and the phonemaker’s own portal Mi.com. On February 3, the sale will exclusively take place on the latter and customers with the company’s F-Code might be able to skip the queue.

The phone was released at an event last week in Delhi and if you’re planning on buying it, here’s what you should know.

Basic specs

Specifications include a 5.5-inch full HD display (1920×1080 pixels) with 2.5D arc glass design and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. In terms of the lenses, the Redmi Note 4 gets a 13 megapixel front camera with PDAF and LED flash and a five megapixel one for selfies.

Battery

A mammoth battery life continues to be the phone’s strongest suit. Upgrading from its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4 gets a marginally bigger 4,100 mAh battery that the company claims to perform better with the new tech on the improved processor. Charging will be done through a microUSB port. In terms of software, it runs Android Marshmallow and MIUI 8.0 with Xiaomi promising Android Nougat 7.0 soon.

Variants

The smartphone will come with three different RAM+storage variants – the 2GB+32GB, the 3GB+32GB and the 4GB RAM+64GB option, with an expandable storage of up to 128GB on all phones. Xiaomi has continued with the dual-hybrid SIM slots that will allow you to use either one of the nano SIM+microSD Card or nanoSIM+nanoSIM combinations at one particular time.

Features

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a metal unibody design, fingerprint sensor at the back and will be available in black, gold and dark grey hues. Other connectivity options, apart from the hybrid dual SIM card slots include 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth.

Pricing

The different variants of the phone have been priced at Rs 9,999, Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999 for the 2GB+32GB, the 3GB+32GB and the 4GB RAM+64GB respectively. Despite the company’s claims of having sold three million Redmi Note 3 smartphones in India during 2016, the Redmi Note 4 will face tough competition from the likes of the LeEco Le 2, the Moto G4 Plus and the Lenovo Z2 Plus.
