BMW’s pioneering coupé-SUV gets a Rs 1.1 crore price tag
BMW India has just launched the updated X6 at Rs 1.1 crore (Ex-Delhi/Maharashtra). Styled as a coupé SUV, the striking beemer was one of the first off-roaders in the world to combine SUV-ish utility with slick coupé-like styling.
The car gets a 3.0 litre, inline-6, twin-turbo diesel with 313 hp and a supercar-like 63 kgm of torque. This allows this sizeable SUV to hit 0-100 in a sportscar shaming 5.8 seconds. To keep things exclusive, BMW has brought only one trim to our market – the xDrive40d M Sport. BMW say that they have increased localisation of their products to upto 50%, although the X6 arrives a completely built unit (CBU)
The X6 M Sport is the most heavily loaded version. On the outside the car gets the M Sport bodykit which includes a large front air-inlet, a more prominent kidney grille, new LED taillamps and chrome laden tailpipe covers.
The car also comes with BMW’s trademark Xdrive all-wheel drive system, traction and stability control, Cornering brake control and side-impact protection. The car sends varying levels of power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic which can also be operated using paddle shifters. Like all BMWs, this one runs on run flat tyres too, wrapped around 19″ alloys.
