Ford India launches the all new Endeavour
Ford India launches the all new Endeavour

Ford’s popular SUV returns to take on the Toyota Fortuner.

Ford India launched their much awaited Endeavour SUV on the 20th of this month. The Endeavour originally arrived roughly a decade ago, but it was eventually usurped by the likes of the Toyota Fortuner which has been the strongest seller in the large SUV market owing to its durability and comfort.

The new Endeavour however, appears to be quite sophisticated. Much like Land Rover’s Terrain Response System, Ford has created a Terrain Management System which has Rock/Sand/Snow/Mud modes and lets the car adapt to alternating terrain with the twist of a knob. Prices for the Endeavour start at a remarkably reasonable Rs 24.75 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) and this makes it slightly cheaper than the base 4×2 manual variant of the Fortuner.  The top-end 4×4 version of the car will cost Rs 29.46 lakh. The new Endeavour carries with it Ford’s new signature grille which can be found across their entire range, and is sold overseas as the Everest. It comes with two diesel engine variants – a 2.2 litre one and a 3.2 litre one – the latter giving you a more satisfactory 198 bhp of power.
