Amit Mistry, who was last seen in the romantic drama series on Amazon Prime Video titled Bandish Bandits, breathed his last today morning (April 23). The actor suffered from a cardiac arrest. He is best known for his roles in Shor in the City, Saat Phero Ke Hera Pheri, Tenali Rama, Madam Sir.
His manager Maharshi Desai confirmed the news of his death. “I am in complete shock myself. He was all well and was at his home only. He didn’t even complain of any health issue. Post breakfast he felt an ache in his heart and it was a heart attack and his family couldn’t even take him to the hospital. It is a big loss for the entertainment industry to lose an actor like him and I will miss working with him,” stated Maharshi.
His colleagues and friends are shocked to hear about his sudden demise. Producer Mahir Khan, who worked with him in shows like Dafa 420 and Savdhaan India, even revealed that he spoke to him a few days back and he sounded absolutely healthy to him. He expressed, “I spoke to him around 10 days back and he was healthy and happy. He asked me if I am planning to work on something and when are we working together.”
“He also wanted to meet soon. The news of his death is shocking and heartbreaking. He was a powerhouse of talent and energy. No matter for how many long hours we would shoot, I never saw him complaining. He was very passionate and honest towards his work. He was not just a good actor, but a gem of a person, who was always ready to help others. I will miss him dearly,” added Khan.
Amit Mistry had also essayed the role of Preity Zinta’s brother in Kya Kehna. He was an actor, director and dialogue writer, who worked in Television, Bollywood, and Gujarati cinema. He also featured in films including Yamla Pagla Deewana, Singh Saab the Great, and Chor Bani Thangaat Kare, a Gujarati comedy family drama directed by Rahul Bhole. May his soul rest in peace.
