Apple and innovation always go hand in hand. Let it be in their products or even their physical stores. Apple’s latest architectural marvel is their brand-new store in Singapore, which floats.
The store’s location is in Singapore’s most luxurious area — Marina Bay Sands. The land was occupied by the Avalon club from 2011 to 2016, which had a shard-shaped glass design. But Apple had a more ambitious design idea for the space. The glass panels aren’t new, but the dome shaped skeleton on which they sit is definitely unique for an Apple store. The glass layout allows tons of natural light to seep into the store during the day, and special panels light up the rest of the structure once the sun sets.
Since the building floats on water, the main entrance of the store can be accessed by a boardwalk. Once you’re inside the store, you can even take an underwater tunnel to join the mall.

“We will soon open the doors to our new store by the Bay,” reads a teaser site from the company. “Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new. We can’t wait to see where your imagination takes you.”
