The first-ever digital edition of Lakme Fashion Week 2020 gave us an impressive experience that connected the space between digital and physical formats. The five-day extravaganza provided us with virtual runway shows of top Indian designers such as Kunal Rawal, Manish Malhotra, Amit Aggarwal among many others.
From Manish Malhotra opening the season to Kunal Rawal’s uber-cool ‘Process’ collection, the designers put forth their best this season. Here are the menswear designers whose collections we absolutely loved. Scroll away.
KUNAL RAWAL
Kunal Rawal showcased his ‘Process’ collection that saw monochrome silhouettes in the darker colour palette. Shades such as blacks, greys, whites along with his signature metallics were the highlight of the contemporary collection.
SUKRITI AND AAKRITI
For Sukriti and Aakriti’s festive collection, models strutted down the runway in naturally dyed silhouettes that gave a contemporary touch to the collection. Showstopper Aparshakti Khurrana closed the show in a straight cut pintuck kurta with a well-fitted bundi in naturally dyed threads of Phulkari embroidery and tapered slim cut pants.
MANISH MALHOTRA
Manish Malhotra opened Lakme Fashion Week with his fashion film titled, ‘Ruhaaniyat’. The collection was a tribute to the Indian artisans and craftsmen and featured traditional wear in fabrics such as silk, velvet and cotton. The colour palette of the collection was seen in shades of mint green, teal, grey, dusky pink and white.
MALAI
Sustainable brand Malai’s collection featured printed ensembles and graphic tees, made by using bio-composite material from coconuts and natural fibres.
