There's social media, providing an endless stream of every little nugget of their day-to-day affairs, but this constant exposure can also come to bite you at times. The Indian cricketer Riyan Parag's YouTube search history is getting viral on the internet, which had some salacious search lists including Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey. We look at five such incidents when the internet screwed famous celebs.

Chris Evans

Chris Evans made headlines when he inadvertently shared his own nude photos on Instagram during the endless days of quarantine. The Captain America actor quickly deleted the NSFW images, but not before countless fans snagged screenshots and spread them like wildfire online.

“You know, things happen. It’s embarrassing, but you gotta roll with the punches,” he said in an interview after the mishap. “I will say, I have some pretty fantastic fans who really came to my support. That was really, really nice.”

PewDiePie

PewDiePie, the controversial Swedish YouTube sensation, faced backlash after using a racial slur in a 2017 video and making anti-Semitic remarks. Disney swiftly cut ties with the then highest-paid YouTuber, leading to the cancellation of his YouTube Red series and removal from the Google Preferred advertising program. Despite apologizing for his language, PewDiePie defended himself against charges of anti-Semitism, claiming his comments were misconstrued.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan joined the ranks of celebrities with notorious photoshop faux pas when she posted a picture on Instagram in 2015. In a bid to enhance her figure, Lohan’s editing blunder distorted the door behind her, creating a comical and awkward scenario that left fans scratching their heads.

Rita Ora

In October 2014, the singer hit up Twitter to drop hints about new tunes, testing the waters to see how many of her fans would show the love. Ora tweeted, “Dropping my new song monday if this gets 100,000 retweets.” Sadly, it only got around 2,000. But, much to her chagrin, the response fell flat. Clearly underwhelmed, she later returned to the platform to cry foul, claiming her account had been hacked. It was a cringe-worthy moment for all involved.

Lorde

In 2018, Lorde shared a snap of her tub on social media, accompanied by the caption, "And iii will always love you." The words were a nod to a Dolly Parton tune famously sung by the late Whitney Houston, who tragically passed away in a bathtub in 2012 at just 48. Naturally, the songstress swiftly removed the post and offered up her apologies.

“Extremely extremely poor chosen quote,” Lorde wrote on her Instagram story at the time. “I’m so sorry for offending anyone — I hadn’t even put this together I was just excited to take a bath. I’m an idiot. Love Whitney forever and ever. Sorry again.”
