Oscars 2021 producers – Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher, and Steven Soderbergh have finally chalked out the final plans for the ceremony and revealed how the COVID safety procedure would be practised throughout the award show. With the sudden surge in the COVID-19 cases in the world, the producers want to make sure that everything goes smoothly on April 25, the day when the Oscars are scheduled to be held. Deadline reports that Collins, Sher, and Soderbergh are taking every measure to make sure all the nominees and participants are safe throughout the three-hour ceremony.

“The narrative of the evening will be how we have gotten people back to work and what is involved exactly in doing that. There is that sort of strand that is going to run throughout the program of following the science of keeping people safe,” said Sher.
She continued, “The whole situation has been incredibly fluid in making sure that we are adhering to the guidelines in terms of capacity, and how we are allowed to move people, and how long we are allowed to keep them in certain places. There is no universe in which we are ever going to put anybody at risk.” She added that she knows that Covid is going to be there “because it is everywhere”, but the team wants to move forward.
According to Deadline, Soderbergh has also advised that wearing a mask throughout the whole ceremony will be necessary for all the people who will be in attendance. “Masks will play a very important role in the story of the evening. That topic is very central to the evening,” he added. He further talked about how vaccines have helped improve things and it was a good decision to push the February date to April. The “red carpet” so associated with Oscars 2021 and awards shows will be “tiny,” according to reports in Deadline. The Oscar telecast will air live on ABC at 8 PM.
