Aamir Khan’s 2014 blockbuster hit PK, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has been a huge success, which was loved by the audiences. The story was about the advantage one can take if people have blind faith in religion, where Khan played the role of an alien who is confused with the concept of God on Earth.

The story ended with a shot of Ranbir Kapoor in the last scene, and the actor is now reportedly set to be the protagonist in the next installment. Vidhu Vinod Chopra has said that a sequel will be made in due time and hinted that Kapoor’s character may take the story forward, reported by Mid-Day. He said, “We will make the sequel. We had shown Ranbir towards the end of the film, so there is a story to tell. But Abhijat (Joshi) has not written it yet. The day he writes it, we will make it.”

Back in 2015, when asked about whether he would like to play the role in the sequel Kapoor said, ”I don’t think they are ever planning to make a sequel to the film. However, I had so much fun working with Raju Hirani and doing the small scene that if they ever plan to make a sequel and approach me for the lead role, I will do it for free,” reported movietalkies.com

The film broke box office records when it released in 2014, which also featured actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and late Sushant Singh Rajput. The film showed Khan as an alien who lands on Earth and loses the device that helps him communicate with his spaceship.

Coming to Kapoor’s work front, the actor will be seen with Shraddha Kapoor for a special project. The film will be released on March 18, 2022, as reported by Filmfare. He will also be seen with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra.
