It was some time in 1966 when the Toyota Corolla was introduced; and five decades since then, the Corolla has reached a place where it is the most preferred sedan of choice for the elite in over 150 countries. Not suprisingly, there are over 44 million Corollas on the road in these countries. After winning hearts across the world, the global sedan has returned to India in an improved and advanced avatar. Toyota Corolla, to this day, continues to surprise us with fresh new concepts.
Toyota Corolla Altis – Fully loaded for the elite
You’re known by the car you drive is an adage that stands true even to this day. Not surprisingly, the all new Corolla Altis retains the original Corolla DNA that is known for Toyota’s legendary Quality, Durability and Reliability; however the exterior design and the interior plushness is this generation. You will notice it in the stylish character lines that distinguish it, the sleek and elegant bi-beam headlamps, the new R16 alloy wheels and the new 3D bumper design with LED tail lamps, to name a few.
The interior lives up to the stylish exterior and the quality and care is pretty obvious, considering the five decades of constant upgrades the legend has received – obvious in the sleekly designed instrument panel, the soft touch and plush dashboard and the refreshing Flaxen interior colours. It is noteworthy that the Corolla Altis is the only sedan in its class to offer a spacious cabin with rear reclining seats with control, minus ion generator (nanoe) and autofold and reverse linked ORVM, ensuring total comfort and convenience. Reiterating Toyota’s safety leadership positioning, the new Corolla Altis is equipped with 7 SRS airbags, ABS & EBD with Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control and an impact absorbing structure, adding to the excellent cabin rigidity and occupant safety. The new Corolla Altis is competitively priced, starting at Rs. 15,43,700 (Ex-showroom New Delhi), the new Corolla Altis is set to retain its market leadership position in the segment.
The befitting cosmopolitan evening
To commemorate the introduction of the latest avatar of the world’s favourite sedan, Toyota hosted an event at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave, New Delhi on the 10th of November, that does justice to its stature. Gracing the event was Mohit Chauhan, the legendary Bollywood singer who thrills his audience, just like the Corolla Altis. The one-on-one chat show allowed the who’s who to get up close and personal with Mohit. The stunning new Corolla Altis on display caught everyone’s attention and was pretty much the conversation starter amongst strangers. The guests were all ears when Mohit took to the stage and crooned some favourite Bollywood numbers, in his typical melodious voice.
