Taylor Swift Has A Record-Breaking Night At The AMAs 2019
Guess who had a great Sunday night? Taylor Swift, that’s who. The singer broke multiple records at the American Music Awards and looked stunning while doing so. During the ceremony last night, Swift took home six awards and beat Michael Jackson’s record of 24 wins throughout his career at the awards ceremony – Swift’s total now comes up to a cool 29 awards.
Metro UK reports that the singer was honoured with the artist of the decade and artist of the year awards as well as the favourite artist – adult contemporary, favourite album – pop/rock for Lover, the favourite music video for You Need To Calm Down, and favourite female artist – pop/rock.
“The last year of my life has had some of the most amazing times and also some of the hardest things I’ve gone through in my life and not a lot of them are things that haven’t been public,” the 29-year-old said on stage.

“Like, this industry is really weird. You feel like your stock is either up or down and people either like you or they don’t or you’re feeling bad about yourself. But the people that hang in there for you are the ones that you will never forget. This year for me has been a lot. It’s been a lot of good, a lot of really complicated. And so on behalf of my family and me, thank you so much for being there and for caring,” she added.
Swift has been embroiled in some major drama with Scooter Braun and the head of Big Machine Records, Scott Borchetta. The singer shared a lengthy statement on Twitter claiming how the two aforementioned individuals had stopped her from performing a medley of her earlier hits (something she had planned to perform during the AMAs).
