Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli Ask Paps For Privacy For Their Baby Girl
Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli welcomed a baby girl on the 11th of January. Virat Kohli announced the happy news on Twitter and stated that both Anushka Sharma and the baby are doing well and that the family would like some privacy.
“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time,” Virat Kohli wrote.
Their wedding and announcement
The couple got married in 2017 in a hush-hush manner but the news hit the Indian media like a turbo bolt with videos and images from the wedding going viral almost instantly. On August of 2020, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced that they were going to have a baby.
“And then we were three! Arriving Jan 2021,” both of them wrote while sharing a happy picture on their respective social media accounts. The power couple were flooded with congratulatory messages from celebrity friends like Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sania Mirza, Kiara Advani and Parineeti Chopra.
Urge for privacy
Social media is terrible for grown adults and can be incredibly harmful. Hence, the new parents have encouraged the paparazzi to not take pictures of their baby daughter because they hope to keep her away from the public eye.
“Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support,” the couple wrote in a note to the paparazzi.
“While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same,” they added.
