Bombay HC To Hear Petition On Kangana Ranaut Twitter Account
Actor Meryl Streep may have been nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards and won thrice but Kangana Ranaut believes that she has “raw talent like Meryl Streep” and can also “do skilled action and glamour like Gal Gadot”. The actress said so in a tweet in which she attached two pictures – one of her in Thalaivi and another of her in Dhaakad.
“Massive transformation alert, The kind of range I display as a performer no other actress on this globe has that right now, I have raw talent like Meryl Streep for layered character depictions but I can also do skilled action and glamour like Gal Gadot,” Kangana Ranaut tweeted.
Ranaut is the winner of three National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. She has also been honoured with India’s fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri. Her roles in films like Woh Lamhe, Fashion, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu have been critically acclaimed.
Now, the Bombay High Court has said that it will be hearing the plea that seeks either suspension or termination of Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account on March 9. The petitioner had sought an urgent hearing after Ranaut’s tweet where she allegedly referred to the protesting farmers as “terrorists”.
The petitioner, in this case, is advocate Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh who has moved his application before a division bench of Justices S S Shinde and Manish Pitale.
Twitter has previously deleted two tweets by the actress citing a violation of their platform’s terms and conditions.
Despite facing major flak from netizens on Twitter, the actress went on to compare herself to action star Tom Cruise who will be flying to space for his next film.
“Ha ha ha bahut pareshaan hain librus, (liberals are disturbed) yeh Dekho renowned action director of Brave heart and many legendary Hollywood action films said I am better than Tom Cruise when it comes to action … Hahahahaha bechare librus aur tadpo. (suffer in pain, liberals),” she wrote.
Actress Richa Chadha shared two tweets about Narcissistic Personality Disorder on the same day but did not allude to Ranaut or her tweets.
