Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards’ Daughter Addresses OnlyFans Trolling
Followers opened up a debate on Sami’s life choices, including her decision to drop out of school
After the former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen shared his thoughts on his daughter Sami Sheen joining adult content platform Onlyfans, the 18-year-old held a AMA session, fending off trolls on her Instagram account.
Sami, whose parents are Charlie Sheen and fellow-actor Denise Richards, dropped out of high school to pursue an influencer lifestyle, with an Instagram following of 87,000 and plenty of photographs at major music festivals.
The Q&A itself went through a variety of topics including such as her relationship status. Asked if she was single, Sami shared a hiking photo with her dog and wrote a simple, “Yes”. Another questioner asked whether she’d be open to dating anyone who wasn’t “famous or popular,” to which she wrote, “lmao I don’t care about fame or popularity. As long as someone is respectful and we can have fun together that’s all that matters.”
Sami also made sure to direct people to her OnlyFans page during the Q&A, hoping to snag more $19.99-a-month subscribers. One follower doubted her with the question, “Do you really think you have the body for of lol.”
She replied to this by sharing a photo of her with several slices of pizza. “Yes because there’s no ‘body’ you need to have in order to do of,” she responded. “Only thing that matters is making sure that you’re comfortable with what you’re posting & remembering that all bodies are beautiful.”
Another user asked about what her parents thought of the move to OnlyFans. Charlie Sheen famously seemed disappointed at the move, although he’s taking no responsibility for it. “She is 18 years old now and living with her mother,” he said through publicist Jeff Ballard. “This did not occur under my roof. I do not condone this but since I’m unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity.”
In September of last year, Sami alleged in a since-deleted TikTok video that she was “trapped” in an “abusive home” while she was living with her mother. In February of this year, Richards told SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis that they had a strained relationship. Sheen and Richards married in 2002 before splitting in 2006. (They also share a 17-year-old daughter named Lola Rose Sheen.)
Despite their previous issues, Sami addressed the fan’s comment by replying that her mother was ‘extremely supportive.’ Richards echoed this by commenting on her first shared OnlyFans promo:
“Sami I will always support you & always have your back. I love you ”, wrote the 51-year-old actor.
OnlyFans, a subscription-based platform, allows creators to share and monetize their content, which can be explicit. Celebrities, such as Carmen Electra, Bella Thorne, Shanna Moakler and Cardi B, among others, have joined the site to take control of their image and interact with fans. There’s also been a considerable amount of backlash against celebrities taking on the platform – which according to some, gives regular content creators a harder time.
Apart from the controversy surrounding star kids heading to OnlyFans, some followers began to debate on Sami’s life choices, with a few warning her of eventually regretting her lack of education, and reliance on family wealth:
She’ll probably get more money doing this. Support other women.— No (@LakersNFT) June 16, 2022
That said, perhaps she does indeed stand to gain more by using the platform. OnlyFans became popular during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic when numerous sex workers joined to get paid more safely. The site has been tremendously lucrative for some people, allowing them to earn thousands every month.
In August of last year, OnlyFans announced it had 130 million users and 2 million creators who have collectively earned $5 billion. That same month, the site said it suspended its initial plan to ban sexually explicit content following an outcry from its creators and advocates for sex workers.
