Jagga Jasoos has tanked at the box office, even though its cinematography was head and shoulders above other films in recent times. Some people liked it, but that doesn’t make the film a hit. Unfortunately, Ranbir Kapoor had produced the film, and lost out on a lot of money. But then, we appreciate him for taking the risk, because as he says in his film Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year, “Risk toh spiderman ko bhi lena padta hai!”

Here are some other beautiful films that took the risk, and fell. But, they have got its share of patrons and we are among them.

Saawariya

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film was beautiful, mostly because of the unreal sets and Ranbir Kapoor’s expressions. We can still watch Jab Se Tere Naina on loop.

No Smoking

Not many people understood the film, because it was nothing like anything Bollywood has seen. Starring John Abraham and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles, No Smoking is a real treat that you should devour if you already haven’t.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye!

This film didn’t do well at the box office, because unfortunately, it was released just after the 26/11 attacks. But later, it became one of Abhay Deol’s defining performances. The songs, the plot and Dibakar Banerjee’s direction – there’s hardly anything wrong with this film.

Haasil

Another film that was a disaster at box office, but achieved cult status later. It was a beautiful love story, and probably Jimmy Shergill’s best performance in a leading role till date. Tigmanshu Dhulia made his directorial debut with this film, and that is why we love it.
