Grammy Awards 2021 is right around the corner, and the excitement for the award night is increasing with every passing day. The Recording Academy has been sharing details about the ceremony to keep the buzz around the Grammys going, and had recently released the line up for the stage performances as well. It is now being learned that Harry Styles will be opening the Grammys with a grand performance.

The singer is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for Watermelon Sugar, Best Pop Vocal Album for Fine Line, and Best Music Video for Adore You. Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive VP of specials, music and live events, confirmed the news on Wednesday and said, “You don’t want to miss the top of the show.”

Sussman further told Variety, “It’s going to be music coming at you heavy and hard like you’ve not seen it before. We’ve got Harry Styles, this incredible entertainer, at the top of the show and we’ll just keep coming at you.” Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Miranda Lambert and Megan Thee Stallion, among others, are also scheduled to perform on the stage. 

BTS will also take the stage during Sunday’s three-and-a-half-hour long show. Sussman teased, “It will be what you really love and want to see BTS do. They’re going to have fun and engage the audience at home. They’ll get you up on your feet in your living room.”

Talking about how the Grammys will be different this year because of the pandemic, Sussman said that the viewers will be amazed with the production this year. Live performance spaces inside the L.A. Convention Center, outdoor open-air tents in the L.A. Live plaza have been created to live stream the award night. Some performances will be taped as well. The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place on Sunday (March 14) and will be hosted by Trevor Noah.
