Kareena Kapoor On Making Her Digital Debut With Sujoy Ghosh’s Murder Mystery: ‘It Has All Right Ingredients’
Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix film, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma, is based on Keigo Higashino’s 2005 novel, ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’
Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to make her OTT debut with a Netflix film that’s directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The untitled murder mystery is based on the Keigo Higashino’s 2005 Japanese bestseller The Devotion of Suspect X and will see Kapoor star opposite Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.
Netflix announced the film with an interesting video of Kareena Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, and Sujoy Ghosh at a script reading session.
Ghosh, who is known for thrillers like the Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla, said he is excited to adapt the acclaimed Keigo Higashino novel into a film.
In a statement, he added, “Devotion is probably the best love story I’ve ever read, and to get a chance to adapt it into a film is such an honor. Plus I get a chance to work with Kareena, Jaideep and Vijay!!! What more can one ask for!!” Sujoy is also one of the producers of the film.
Revealing that her first digital project “has all the right ingredients,” Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “I can’t wait to begin work on this exciting project. The movie is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures.
