Kristen Bell’s latest Netflix show The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window has one hell of a title, and a crazy premise that has themes of murder, insanity, dark humor, and some serious sexual undertones.

The latter, unfortunately, put a fan named Eric in a hot spot last weekend. He put out a tweet about a very awkward scene—one he had to watch while sitting next to both his mother and his girlfriend. Yikes!

Bell, who was very amused with the story, replied with a cheerful apology:

The steamy scene in question happens at the end of Episode 5 and takes place between Bell’s character Anna, and Rex, played by Benjamin Levy Aguilar.

Without getting too specific, it shows the two characters going at it all across the house—from the front doorway to the shower, to a staircase, across a bedroom window, through hallways, on top of kitchen counters—finally ending in a shot of the couple cuddling in bed and the cuts to another character’s murdered corpse.

It’s as graphic as you imagined it, and it must have been a lot for poor Eric’s mom to handle, evidenced by his final reply:

A fresh take on a stale genre, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is horror-comedy done quite well. The show synopsis on Netflix reads:

“For heartbroken Anna (Bell), every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her,” the description reads. “But when a handsome neighbour (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?”

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window was released on January 28th, 2022 on Netflix.
