Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song might keep their relationship very low key, but they made sure that they shared the news of the arrival of their first baby with their fans. The couple has become parents to a baby boy. Song and Culkin, who are best known for their respective roles in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Home Alone, announced that they welcomed their first child together on April 5.
“Mother, father and baby are all healthy and happy. We are overjoyed,” the duo shared in a statement issued to Times. The couple has named their newborn Dakota Song Culkin in honour of Culkin’s sister Dakota, who passed away in 2008. Song and Culkin met on the set of Seth Green’s Changeland and started dating in 2017. They took a step further in their relationship and moved into a live-in relationship in 2018.
While the couple is enjoying the precious moment, Macaulay Culkin has been getting slammed online for his old People magazine interview in 2018 where he talked about wanting “tiny little Asian babies”. In the interview, he shared that he was looking forward to having babies with Song. “I’m going to have some pretty babies. She’s Asian, so I’m gonna have tiny little Asian babies. It’s going to be adorable – a bunch of Sean Lennons running around the house, that’s what I’m looking for,” he told People, referring to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s son. He even joking said “we’ve definitely been practicing,” talking about becoming a father.
Taiwanese-American culture writer Jeff Yang had reacted to his statement and said, “Congrats I guess”, while another Twitter user tweeted, “We all look like Sean Lennon I guess”. Workwise, Culkin is currently filming for American Horror Story season 10. Earlier, he appeared in 2019 episodes of the comedy Dollface. Song also had a key role in this show.
