Manoj Bajpayee On ‘The Family Man’ Season 3: Suspense From Amazon Is Killing The Team
Seasons 1 and 2 of ‘The Family Man’ have done exceedingly well and the show has a strong fan base among audiences and critics
It’s not just the fans who are waiting eagerly for the release of The Family Man, even National Award winner Manoj Bajpayee and the entire team of the hit web series can’t wait a date. Bajpayee said that he is also waiting for the Amazon Prime Video to announce the premiere date for the highly anticipated third season. “The suspense from Amazon is killing ‘The Family Man’ team because, for now, we don’t have an answer,” the actor told news agency PTI.
The second season of The Family Man, which premiered last June, was thoroughly enjoyed by viewers, and it was on par with the first season that hit our screens in late 2019.
The Family Man has Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man who secretly works as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency.
Bajpayee has a packed slate ahead with projects like Gulmohar, Kanu Behl’s Dispatch, Joram with his Bhosle director Devashish Makhija, and Pahaadon Mein, and Soup, a Netflix series, his third collaboration with director Abhishek Chaubey after Ray and Sonchiriya.
“I’m currently shooting for Gulmohar and I finished Dispatch recently. I’ll start Joram shoot in May. Then there is a film Pahaadon Mein by Raam Reddy (Thithi) that I have completed. There’s also one series Soup for Netflix with Abhishek Chaubey,” the 52-year-old actor said.
“I think next year is going to be busy. People will be either entertained or get tired of me,” he quipped.
The Family Man S2 ended with a teaser for what lay ahead for the show, and showed a conflict at its centre, with a China connection, confirming that the upcoming season will be set during the coronavirus pandemic
While the first season of The Family Man unfolded in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kashmir, the second season was set in Chennai, London, Mumbai, and Delhi. The third season is likely to involve the Northeastern states.
The Family Man received 11 nominations at the 2020 Filmfare OTT Awards. It eventually won five awards – Best Series (Critics), Best Director (Critics), Best Actor (Critics) for Manoj Bajpayee, Best Actress (Critics) for Priyamani, and Best Dialogues.
