IFPI has announced Taylor Swift as the best-selling recording artist of 2019. It is the second time that the 30-year-old singer-songwriter had led recorded music sales globally. The first was in 2014 when she debuted her fifth studio album “1989.”

Swift’s seventh album “Lover” was filled with hits such as ME!, You Need To Calm Down, and the title track.
“Taylor Swift is the epitome of a truly global star. “She continues to grow as an artist and maintains an incredibly strong connection with her fanbase, whilst continuing to evolve her sound with each album. It is a pleasure to be able to present her with the Global Recording Artist of the Year award for the second time,” commented IFPI CEO Frances Moore.
Ed Sheeran comes second in the list, while Post Malone and Billie Eilish took the third and fourth place, respectively.
