Allu Arjun delivered another cult classic with his role in Pushpa: The Rise. The first part of the franchise was a hit, with fans eagerly waiting for a sequel. The makers had already announced that Arjun will return in the titular role for Pushpa: The Rule, but new developments suggest that there is the possibility for a third part.

The film’s antagonist, SP Bhawar Singh Shekhawat aka Fahadh Faasil, shared the news during an interview with The Cue Studio. He revealed how the team has discussed a third instalment with him. “When Sukku (Sukumar) first told me the story, Pushpa was only in one film, after the police station scene and my part in the second half, then it became two parts. Recently when he talked to me, he said to be prepared for Pushpa 3 because he had enough materials to do it [sic],” he said.

While Pushpa fans can rejoice that they will get to see the dynamic duo once again, there are many sequels that were already announced and have had no development since. Films like Hera Pheri 3 and the sequel to RRR have been ‘in talks’ for such a long time without any concrete information being shared. Here are a few names we are waiting for with bated breath ourselves. How about you?

Hera Pheri 3

The iconic trio of Raju, Ghanshyam and Baburao are coming back! Producer Firoz Nadiadwala recently confirmed the news with Bollywood Hungama, revealing that the team is working on Hera Pheri 3 . The previous parts have been a riot, so we cannot wait to see what the team has to offer next.

Dostana 2

Once Dostana 2 was announced, fans were excited to watch Kartik Aaryan in the sequel. But the actor was then sacked from the film, and since then, no update about his replacement has been shared. With or without Aaryan, the second part will possibly be exciting, given that the OG version from 2008 was such a super hit.

RRR 2

RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR has garnered a lot of intrigue around the world, and that sure calls for a sequel. And there might be the possibility of one, according to some reports. While the makers are yet to confirm this, Charan has noted that the story demands another part. Hoping that SS Rajamouli hears him (and the fans) out.

Go Goa Gone 2

This comedy-horror created a wave after its release in 2013 and back in 2020, a second part was announced, along with a poster, too. But there has been no update on the same since.

Kick 2

Kick‘s producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, had announced the sequel to Salman Khan’s superhit in August 2020. But unfortunately, post the pandemic, no news of how things are unfolding in the pre-production stage has been shared. Khan, meanwhile, is working on the other films in his pipeline.

Tiger 3

Another Salman Khan film that people are waiting eagerly for is Tiger 3 . After the second Covid wave, the sets in Mumbai were dissolved and the shooting was halted indefinitely. The cast resumed shooting only in June 2022 in Hyderabad, making the wait longer. Tiger 3 is expected to hit the theatres in April next year.

Indian 2

Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2 is the sequel that we are most excited about. The film came to a halt after Haasan shifted focus to his political career, and will finally begin shooting in August-end. The legal battle with Lyca Productions over the completion of the film also hindered the production further.
