She continued, “To be honest, I was and am very excited about it. It’s in a very ROM-COM Space, it has comedy, emotions and everything. Well knitted. I would say that the film absolutely justifies the title.” The film also features Jassie Gill in the lead role.

Earlier, while talking to Latestly, Jyoti revealed, “It feels awesome. From the moment, the trailer of Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai? was out, I have been receiving calls and messages, from people who are appreciating it and so I’m absolutely glad that they are loving it. I never wanted to do a film, just for the sake of it. So when Mukesh Chhabra, a very well-known casting director, called me and said that there is a film and he thinks I fit the part, I agreed.”

Talking about the film, the story revolves around a young man, Sintoo, who falls in love with Sonam Gupta, the town’s it-girl and a girl way out of his league. While Sintoo thinks that it’s impossible for him to get Sonam, the story takes an interesting turn when the girl reciprocates his feelings. What happens next is a series of comedy of errors where a line ‘Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai‘ written on a note goes viral and originates a series of comical events. Surbhi Jyoti and Jassie Gill’s movie arrives on Zee5 on September 10.
