Dame Judi Dench, the iconic actress who’s won an Oscar, a Tony, two Golden Globes and 10 BAFTA awards can add another item to her list of unimaginable achievements – the living legend has gone viral on popular social media app, TikTok.

With the help of her grandson, Sam Williams, Dench participates in skits and dance videos which garner thousands of views on the app.

“It saved my life. I know nothing about TikTok. Sam is the person who is technically-minded and who has all the ideas, so he got very strict,” she said, in an interview with Channel 4 News.

Stuck in quarantine like most of the globe due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the actress stated that “every day is so uncharted” and it’s easy for one to lose track of time.

“You wake up and wonder what day it is,” she said. “Then you wonder what date it is and sometimes what month. Then you think, ‘What do I do today?’ and the prospect is, ‘Well, what is there to do today?’”

She went on to add that her grandson made her “rehearse all those moves” that have gone viral. “Don’t just think that comes naturally,” she said.

Dench’s initial quarantine goals were to learn every Shakespeare sonnet but she’s made little progress there. We can all relate to that, yes?

“I planned to learn every Shakespeare sonnet,” she said. “I’ve got to about nine, and there are 154, so I’ve got a bit of a way to go there. I’ve done a bit of painting and I’ve talked to friends and rehearse my TikTok and done it with Sam.”
