O ri chhori, y you lose your glory? Remember Gracy Singh from Lagaan? The village belle who Aamir Khan’s Bhuvan falls in love instead of captain Russell’s sister? She turns 36 today and seems to have taken the O Paalanhaare act too seriously.

You might have known that she plays Santoshi Maa in the titular TV show, but even her real life avatar seems like an extension of what she’s portraying on screen right now.

The actress’ Twitter feed is flooded with posts from the spiritual group Brahma Kumaris, of which she seems to be an active member. There’s also a a lot of ‘god’ references, which could even send her down the evangelist route someday.

No offense theists!

Some might even have seen this coming with the actress never shedding her ‘sanskaari’ girl image from whatever we’d seen of her in Bollywood.

Apart from Lagaan, for which she even won a Filmfare for the Best Debut Actress, the trained classical Indian dancer also featured as a sidey wife in Gangaajal and a friendly doctor in Munnabhai M.B.B.S. She’s also done a few Telugu and Punjabi films, including the Nagarjuna-starrer Santosham.

Having appeared in just one film since 2013, she finally found her feet back again with Santoshi Maa and seems to now have built her entire life around that alter ego. Or the vice vera, maybe?

Not that she’s the only Bollywood star to tread this path, but some of her content is plain meme-worthy! Nonetheless, happy birthday Gracy! ‘May you walk with God through life together, hand in hand.’ (whatever that means)
