The Asian Heritage Foundation is celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary in a unique way – with a specially curated meal.
“As we celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, we are reminded of the greatness of the man, the essence of whose life was sublime simplicity. Years after his death, he continues to inspire millions all over the world with his words and deeds,” a postcard from the Foundation states.
It goes on to add that Gandhi was a man committed to non-violence and that naturally dictated his approach to food. While eating mindfully has become a much-discussed topic these days, Mahatma Gandhi had spoken about it years ago – emphasising on the importance of eating just enough to nourish the mind, body and yes, even the soul.
