Tata Motors has just launched their new GenX Nano at Rs 1.9 lakh. The GenX Nano is essentially a Nano Twist with reworked suspension along with a few other tweaks including an openable hatch, a redesigned steering and a new set of bumpers. It also packs two automatic variants, dubbed the *takes deep breath* Tata GenX Nano Twist Easy Shift.
Available in the top two variants, the Easy Shift Nano packs the same Magneti Marelli Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) unit found in the Tata Zest and the Bolt. The Tata GenX Nano Easy Shift costs Rs 2.8 lakh in the XMA trim and Rs 2.99 lakh in the top of the line XTA trim. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new Nano packs a long list of features including Bluetooth connectivity, power windows, gear shift indicators etc.
This is the second step in a prolonged attempt to rebrand the Nano as less of a people’s car and more of an urban, youth friendly hatchback which could also serve as a convenient second car for families.
