Minutes after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that his government would release Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan who was taken captive, Bollywood – like the rest of the country – welcomes the good news with gusto.
“Yesterday I tried to call (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi to say that we don’t want escalation. Our push for de-escalation doesn’t mean we are afraid,” Imran Khan had said. “We have an Indian pilot. As a peace gesture, we will release him tomorrow.”
According to Times of India, Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured after aerial combat between Indian and Pakistani fighter planes.
This made my day !!! #WingCommandarAbhinandan will be back with us tomorrow. #WelcomeBackAbhinandan . 🇮🇳
