All Hail The Queen
After a big win for Kangana Ranaut this year, what’s next in store for her?
At this year’s 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards, Kangana Ranaut bagged the black lady for Best Actor (Female) for Queen. The actress, who is known for her bold choices in fashion and films, believed that the ‘acknowledgment’ meant that she’s made her mark in the industry, even though she gave the awards a miss.
Before doing some outstanding roles (Queen, Revolver Rani, Fashion and Tanu Weds Manu), Kangana’s filmography was bursting with forgettable movies like Game, Double Dhamaka, No Problem, I Love New Year and Krrish 3. In MW’s interview with Kangana last year, she said, “These [average] films gave me my bread and butter. I am an outsider in the industry. I needed money to survive. There was nothing unusual about my struggle, though. In Bollywood, it takes people some time to start giving importance to others. Besides, there are people who like this kind of cinema. Who am I to call them trashy?”
After establishing herself as one of the leading actresses in the industry, Ranaut is now gearing up for her next film, a thriller by Rajkumar Santoshi, along with a stellar ensemble cast of Sr Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel. The film’s set to release in 2016. So, while you wait for that, click here to read what the Queen says about men, women and everything in between.
