Actor Sean Connery, best known for his portrayal of James Bond, passed away at age 90.

The Scottish actor was first to bring the iconic role the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers. According to BBC, Connery died overnight in his sleep, while in the Bahamas and it has been understood that he had been unwell for some time.

The actor won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Untouchables. He also won two BAFTA Awards and three Golden Globes in his career of five decades. His other works include The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock.
