Amitabh Bachchan is all set to make his cricket commentary debut for the India-Pakistan match on the 15th of February. As a part of the promotion for his latest film, Shamitabh, Star Sports and the makers of the film have created this interesting integration, which, like R. Balki’s film, is a tribute to the living legend’s legendary baritone. Big B joins Kapil Dev, Shoaib Akhtar, Harsha Bhogle and other commentators for the match.
We are definitely expecting cricket-themed twists to many of his famous movie dialogues. Maybe, while introducing the captains, he will say, “Rishtey mein toh hum tumhare baap lagte hain, naam hai Mahendra Singh Dhoni.” Or, when praying for a sixer – “Agar apni maa ka doodh piya hai toh chakka laga!” We’re betting that he starts with, “Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayaal aata hai…”
Other than Big B, we are definitely looking forward to a lot of celebrity sighting during the match. Here’s hoping that there’s enough entertainment for everyone, even those who aren’t interested in the sport.
