With summer here in full swing, the only sane option is for cyclists to step out at night. Up until now, cycling at night has brought with it the risks of poor visibility, speeding vehicles and rash drivers, but this new reflective spray paint seems like it can change the way you commute in the dark.
Volvo, the Swedish car manufacturer, has partnered with UK design firm Grey London and Albedo100 to create a reflective spray paint that’s only visible at night – LifePaint. Cyclists can spray it over parts areas of their clothing and the cycle. Once the headlights of a vehicle hit the cyclist, a glare is reflected, notifying the driver – it is completely invisible, otherwise. The paint is washable, and lasts for about 10 days after application.
The paint is not available in India as of now, but it seems like just the sort of thing that would prove a godsend to Indians, given how poorly our roads are lit. Go here for more information
