BCCI is known to be one of the big powerhouse sports organisations in India and across the world. In the last decade or so, its dominance can be seen in the cricket world as people tend to listen and agree to the demands of the BCCI. The organisation has always come to the aid and need of the people, other organisations whenever help is needed. Another such instance can be seen recently when the BCCI agreed to donate ten crore rupees to the IOA (Indian Olympic Association).

BCCI had an emergent meeting a few days back. Many pointers were discussed in that meeting with almost all the prominent members of the organisation, including Sourav Ganguly, the President of the organisation, and Jay Shah, secretary, present in that meeting. The decision to grant the donation to the association comes as a surprise as the Indian Olympic Association also does not lack funding and can work with their fund, but any added support is helpful.
NEWS 🚨 Key decisions taken at 8th Apex Council Meeting of BCCI

The Twitter reactions were mixed to this news as some people expressed their delight as one Indian organisation is helping another during tough times, and this gesture will be remembered for a long time. In contrast, the other half thinks the exact opposite and sees the situation from a pessimistic perspective. They feel that the IOA didn’t require any funds and could have functioned without the help provided by the BCCI. One valuable point was that why can’t the BCCI pay the domestic cricketers whose income depends on tournaments like Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, amongst others. The BCCI is also looking to solve this problem and has even appointed a committee to ensure and stimulate an amount that would be fair to every player who solely depends on domestic cricket.
It is fair to say that BCCI has to deal with a lot of problems daily, whether it be the continuation of the IPL, critics of their selectors amongst many other issues, but it is the organisation that looks after its people and will be willing to sacrifice their everything for the future of this country and the betterment of Sports in the country.
