With a run-time of SEVEN hours, WrestleMania was one of the longest shows in WWE history. Everything, from Ronda Rousey’s debut and Daniel Bryan’s comeback to The Undertaker’s return, transpired at The Dome in New Orleans’. Here’s a look at five of the biggest talking points from the event.

Dead man walking

John Cena had been building up his feud with the phenom for almost a month, only to be greeted by Elias as the 78,000-plus audience chanted The Undertaker’s name. But after landing an Attitude Adjustment on Elias, Cena got what he wished for.

A conspicuously meek-looking Undertaker walked down the aisle following a thunder strike on the edge of the ring as the Cenation leader waited eyes-wide-open. To much disappointment though, the match lasted hardly three minutes as Taker tombstoned his opponent for his 24th WM win.

Lesnar’s streak continues

Brock Lesnar came in to his main event as the Champion for 371 days. The build up with Roman Reigns made for a great battle, but the Big Dog was on the receiving end of at least half a dozen F5s by the end of it.

The crowd started chanting CM Punk’s name and cries of ‘This is awful’ summed up the predictability as the ‘part-timer’ retained the gold.

Shinsuke’s heel act

Touted as the clash of two great wrestlers, Smack Down’s championship match was another major flop show at WM 34. For most part of the match, AJ Styles dominated Shinsuke Nakamura, who could barely stand on his feet.

As the champion successfully defended his title, he was low blowed by his opponent only for this skewed rivalry to stretch for a few more weeks, at least.

10-year-old tag team champ

Braun Strowman came into the tag team main event without a partner to face Sheamus and Cesaro. He ventured into the audiences to find a partner and a 10-year-old Nicholas partnered him for the belts to actually changed hands.

Push for women’s wrestling

The best bit about this year’s WrestleMania though was the heartening female participation and performances. Rousey marked her WWE debut with a win over Stephanie McMahon in their mixed tag team match while even the first ever women’s battle royale on WM made for quite a spectacle.

The women’s title matches also lived up to the billing as some fans were quick to point out how the men’s main events could take cue from them.
